“So anyone that knows the Boxer breed knows that whilst loving and faithful they are full of energy and mischief which can sometimes be misunderstood. They require a high amount of exercise both physically and mentally. With me working full time and often away from home there were gaps in her exercise routine that weren’t being met which was resulting in naughty behaviour in order to gain attention. We came to Mac having had a nightmare with a previous dog walker who clearly did not understand our girl. From the first meeting, Mac was amazing he took the time to listen to our previous experience which had clearly caused us concern as the aggressive behaviour the other dog walker had reported to us we had never seen whilst walking our beautiful girl. Mac quickly identified what he thought was the catalyst for her sudden change in nature and provided reassurance that between us we would work through it. And work through it we did, within a few walks, Lottie was her normal happy loving self. To begin with, we only needed Mac on the days I was away working but then suddenly and unfortunately I sustained an injury which meant I was unable to walk her at all. Mac stepped up and filled that essential gap for us! Lottie started with him shortly after her first birthday and has now just turned 2yrs old, she absolutely adores her time with him and it is now comical that when he rings the doorbell and then does his special knock she knows exactly who is coming to see her and you can see her excitement. He is constantly offering up suggestions to make their time walking together interesting for her and she always comes back contented and worn out.
“Ermi is a rescue dog, who has fears of cars and loud noises, they frighten him. I tried to walk him to quiet areas but he needed to mix with other dogs.
“Mac has been a lifesaver! Mac was one of the few dog walkers who were prepared to spend time and make the effort with a large powerful puppy (Giant Schnauzer). I could not be happier with the relationship that both Watson and Mac have built up in under 6 months. He walks him regularly along with some of his other dogs and judging by photos and videos that I regularly receive I can see that Watson is having a wonderful time and comes home exhausted. Also looking forward to when Mac starts his longer walks for 2.5/3 hours per session as Watson will love this!“
“We were in need of finding a dog walking provider at short notice and Mac at Crate Escapes stepped up to the mark. Our cockerpoo, Ruairi, being a breed with separation anxiety had issues with scratching woodwork and pulling at carpet so ideally needed to have interaction when left alone for any length of time. Mac enables us to provide this with fun, hourly walks in a small enough group that ensures we arrive back to a happy and tired dog when we are not at home. Mac completed a home visit in Billericay and was great to meet in advance and evidence all insurance and checks so we were comfortable to leave our house key with. We’ve not had any issues since Mac has looked after Ruairi for us and would recommend him to anyone considering dog walking services for reliability and assurance for looking after our dog when we are not around.”

“Max is very friendly but is a strong boisterous dog who needs a firm hand when he gets excited whilst being walked. We had struggled to find a dog walker willing to work with Max due to his size until we found Mac. He has worked with Max and they have a great relationship. Max looks forward to Mac’s visits. And hearts are more excited to see him than anyone else who visits. We would highly recommend Mac.“
“We started looking for a dog walker because although Winnie has always gone to daycare, we have noticed that she thrives better when she is stimulated by being taken out on walks as she is not particularly interested in playing with other dogs. She is a typical Springer Spaniel who likes to run for miles and chase a ball but she also loves a fuss and a cuddle.
We knew that finding the right person to work with her may be tricky but were thrilled to find that Mac might be able to accommodate her.
We started with a meet and greet and Mac then suggested a series of trial walks to see how they got along together.
